I know nothing about stopping an oil spill, but I have watched a lot of Jerry Bruckheimer movies. Since the government and BP don’t really have any good oil-stopping ideas, I’ll submit this one.

Let’s send someone like Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck down to drill a couple holes a few hundred feet away from where the oil is spewing. Send down some explosives and ignite. This will cause an avalanche to collapse on the oil spout blocking the flow of oil.

They probably won’t do this because it will be really hard to continue to drill for oil after the cave in.

It would make a pretty good movie though.
